Toda & Nel-lo has appointed Remedios García as a partner in the Tax department of its Madrid office. With more than 25 years of professional experience and a well-established track record in tax, García joins from Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, where she spent most of her career and served as counsel and non-equity partner in the Tax department.

The appointment gives fresh impetus to Toda & Nel-lo’s growth plan and, in particular, to its commitment to Madrid as a strategic market for the firm. The hire also strengthens one of the firm’s flagship practices with a lawyer of broad domestic and international experience, particularly in transactional matters, but also in day-to-day advisory work and tax proceedings.

García has extensive experience advising on the tax aspects of domestic and cross-border M&A, financing and restructuring transactions, as well as conducting and coordinating due diligence processes. She has worked particularly on transactions in the real estate and energy sectors, among others, and has experience in the tax structuring of project and asset finance transactions.

Throughout her career, García has also advised companies, family groups and individuals on particularly complex tax matters, both domestic and international, including the taxation of non-residents. She also has experience in tax audits and proceedings before the Spanish Tax Agency, economic-administrative appeals and tax litigation.
